After being sentenced to two to four years behind bars, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has granted the Philly rapper’s release on bail “pending a hearing in about 60 days to possibly dismiss the conviction.”

Today Monday April 16, Drake took to his Instagram to announce the upcoming release of his new album with a photo of himself wearing a jacket with his name, album title and release date.

It is unclear wether the record will be a studio album, EP or mixtape. Drake’s last major project was the commercial mixtape, More Life, released in March 2017, and wrapped up with the line “I’ll be back 2018 to give you the summary.”
On Monday April 16 at around 4pm, the rapper posted a message on Twitter asking his followers to “come through” to the Gramercy Theatre in New York City at 6 p.m for a free show for his fans and it was first come, first serve.
At the surprise concert the North Carolina rapper played his entire new album for those who were lucky to attend. The new album, Kod stands for three different subtitles: kidz on drugz, king overdose and kill our demonz according to Rap Radar’s B.Dot.
After the concert, he revealed on Twitter the album’s title and release date: KOD will be out this Friday April 20, 2018. This will be Cole’s fifth album and his first since 2016’s 4 Your Eyez Only.
